It´s on ! The 5th Georgian Open will take place traditionally from 1st to 5th of August.

This year, unlike the previous years, this 4th stop of the prestigious EBGT will take place on the shores of the Black Sea, near Batumi.

The Oasis resort**** is located in Chakvi, about 15 km away from the international airport in Batumi and only 50 km away from the Turkish border. It offers a perfect combination of family vacation and backgammon fun with moderate rates, including 3 meals per day.

The winner of the Masters Division will automatically qualify for the Grand Finale of EBGT and all other Masters players will collect valuable points for the Point Race.

Up to $15,000 added money will be paid out.

The tournament ends on the 5th of August, as usual, with the “Gogi Bukia Memorial Dinner” to celebrate the late Gogi Bukias birthday.

The richest and most luxurious tournament of the year will be held in paradisiac Punta Cana, from 7th to 9th of November 2011.

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana will be the venue of a unique tournament, combining a week of backgammon and poker action.

The backgammon event has a guaranteed $100,000 prize-pool and will be followed by a fantastic poker tournament, featuring poker pros and celebrities.

Entry fee for the backgammon event is $5,000 with 90% return.

Format: Main (15 point matches, clocked), “Fighters Bracket” (progressive consolation, 9 points, clocked), no Last Chance. The finalists in Main and the finalists in Consolation will compete in a play-off for 1st to 4th place.

Prize distribution: Winner (50%), Runner-up (25%), each Semi-Finalist (12.5%)

There will be a Super-Jackpot on the last day, for those out of the competition. $1,000 entry with 90% return, single elimination, 9 point, clocked.

The event is limited to 64 players maximum (first come, first served).
